Mac OS printing from adobe software causing firmware error on printer (reboots)

There is a known issue when printing from adobe software on Macs to Various printers whereby the print job will cause a blue screen of death on the printer (dell and lexmark printers are known to be affected) and the printer continuously reboots showing a firmware error.
To resolve this issue the print job needs to be deleted from the printers queue.
The best way to print from adobe software on macs is therefore to export whatever adobe file your working on to PDF and then open it with adobe acrobat and print it as an image.
Here are the instructions for exporting the file as a PDF and printing from Adobe Acrobat:
1. Open the file with the adobe application used to create it and click on the "File" menu in the top left hand corner.
2. In the drop down menu click on the "Export" option.
3. Type in a name for your file in the "Save as:" field and make sure the format is saved as "Adobe PDF" (interactive or print) is fine.
4. Choose the appropriate export settings in the next window if one comes up or leave the default options and click on Export.
*** Now open Adobe Acrobat DC (or pro if your using an older version) and open the newly exported file. ***
5. Click on the "File" menu in the top left hand corner (make sure Acrobat is the open program).
6. Select "Print" from the drop down menu.
7. In the "Print" window click on the "Advanced" button to the right of the printer name.
8. Now in the "Advanced Printer Setup" window make sure the checkbox next to "Print as Image" is checked. Choose whatever DPI you would like to print at and Click the "OK" button.
9. Now you are ready to print so click on the "Print" button.
