How to login to FCAD Domain

Hi everyone,

The FCAD domain user database is ready and everyone is in.  Back in August of 2011 it has been decided that the domain user database is to be kept and not purged on anual basis. First year students are added to the user database every year. Also students who graduated are to be cleared from the user database on anual basis. We adhere to Ryereson University Academic standard for the user names and passwords. Second, third and fourth year students should remember their username and established passwords and their credentials remain till graduatation.

First year students must establish their fcad domain login credential by using the username just before "".

For example if a student's Ryerson email is then the user name will be brian.adam and initial password is student's 9 digits student id number (the entire nine digits) including the leading zero if applicable.

User name: brian.adam
Password : 052312287

Similarly if the email is also called short user name and may contain no more than 8 characters.

User name:  badam
Password :  052312287

Students must login to an FCAD wired computer.  The system will prompt for password change upon first login. Students must select a password that they can remember. New password must consist of eight or more (Alpha-Numeric) characters, with sufficient complexity. Passwords may contain upper/lower case letters, numbers and special characters.

Home folders:

Every FCAD student now has a home folder in FCAD domain. Each FCAD student is allotted 15GB of space. Home folders are auto mounted upon login and it is mounted within My Computer icon on a PC desktop. On Apple machines a student can find his or her home folder mounted in the Dock and it is named exactly as the logged in user username.

Thank you and Good luck.
